I started writing humorous contemporary romance a few years ago right after Harlequin-Silhouette called to let me know they were canceling Bombshell, the women's action/adventure line I was writing for at the time -- oh, and by the way, they were canceling it a month before my debut novel was scheduled to hit the shelves. Yes, it was a shame to be out on my butt with a bunch of action-adventure novels the publisher no longer wanted (though getting to keep the advance took some of the sting out!) but it was a fabulous opportunity for me to discover what I should have been writing all along . . .quirky, contemporary romance! The kind that simultaneously leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy, and at risk of laughing 'til you pee your pants.
